Dear ESCP colleagues and friends,
Please accept our depeest sorrow that our dear friend and colleague Foppe van Mill past away on July 18th, 2020. These are sudden and sad news for all of us and for the whole clinical pharmacy and pharmaceutical care community in Europe. In these commemorative days, we would like to send you a few remembers for Foppe also for our Section of Clinical Pharmacy of the Czech Pharmaceutical Society, Czech Republic, one of the professional platform of clinical pharmacists in our country.
Foppe van Mill was one of our dear colleagues, for some of us dear friend that we met regularly during clinical pharmacy events, organization of various professional workshops and Symposia and during research collaboration in the Research and Scientific Committee of the ESCP.
Foppe was known as a giant, not only by the body high, but also by heart, soul, constructive critical thinking and braveness to discover new ways for clinical pharmacy practice. He always supported development of clinical pharmacy services and research in different settings of care, also in the position of Editor in Chief in the International Journal of Clinical Pharmacy, and was one of the European experts promoting development of clinical pharmacy practice in the primary care.
He closely cooperated with some of our representatives at the European level, particularly with prof. Jiří Vlček and Assoc. Prof. Daniela Fialová and was awarded Prize of the Czech Pharmaceutical Society of the Czech Medical Association J.B. Purkyně during the 42nd European Symposium on Clinical Pharmacy focusing on „Development of Clinical Pharmacy Practice, Education and Research“ in Prague, Czech Republic in 2013. He collaborated with our colleagues on jointly chaired workshop in clinical pharmacy held by Czech and Turkish moderators in Edinburgh, Scotland during the Scottish ESCP Workshop entitled „Improving Patient Care through Collaborative Practice“. Collaboration with Foppe was always friendly, very inspirative and professional community loses in him one of the great experts, renown Fellows and ESCP friends.
With the deepest sadness we commemorate Foppe van Mill these days for the Section of Clinical Pharmacy of the Czech Pharmaceutical Society, Czech Republic and we send his family, friends and professional collaborators our deepest condolence.
